I am writing this blogpost to tell innocent people that they are going to be robbed by godaddy sooner or later. Although its always sooner than later.
I am not alone in getting robbed by godaddy. There are tons of other people, the proof of the same is in Godaddy review rating which is only 2 star in independent review websites for hosting companies.
I got a VPS for a client (this is the first time that we went for Godaddy services as the domain was purchased through Godaddy by the client)
The VPS was purchased in Sep 2015 for $ 89.97 for a quarter. It got renewed for $ 89.97 in Dec 2015.
However when we put the server to work in March 2016, the most basic thing i.e. emails were not getting configured on outlook or any of the Phone email applications.
When contacted the support, they continue to talk for hours but were unable to resolve the matter as everything looked okay.
We have a 10 years experience working with VPS and hosting accounts and we knew that the issue is nothing but created by them because they all asked for purchasing fully managed services for the VPS and only then they can provide support for the issue.
To lure us into purchasing it they said it is only for $19 for a month. Okay, we got it to get done with it for a month on 21th March 2016.
However, on 23rd March 2016 the client got billed for $555.26 for the quarter VPS and Fully managed services that we never asked for.
They said, because you asked for it. We said we only asked for a 1 month service and that too for $19 to that they replied that was for 0.097 months. However, when purchasing we were showed that we are purchasing 1 month service for $19.
To our surprise they did not refund our client's money for the fraudulent charge of $555.
So, beware people of Godaddy fraud techniques.
